THE 2019 BALL

MALA's Annual Ball is legendary. Taking place every year since 2005, it is an institution on the Midlands Circuit. Every year, over 550 solicitors, barristers and judges celebrate the achievement of Asian lawyers and the diversity of the legal profession at Athena

Every year, MALA is honoured to receive a guest speaker from the judiciary to share their insight and experience. This year our special guest of honour was Lord Justice Singh. This year's lead sponsor was De Montfort University, Leicester.

Ticket sales supported MALA's chosen charities: True Honour, supporting victims of honour-based violence, and Midland Langar Seva Society, which provides food & support to homeless people. The Ball, through ticket sales & fund-raising on the night raised over £8,000 for these charities.

And for this year's Ball, an Instagram account to share the experience again!

If you are interested in sponsoring our next ball or have a ball-related enquiry, please email us.

The Annual MALA ball raises money for good causes, such as £7,500 raised in 2018 for the Laura Centre, an incredible charity based in Leicester. It also funds MALA's activities and allows MALA to be self-funded and independent. MALA relies on ticket sales and sponsorship.

This year's lead sponsor is De Montfort University, Leicester, together with generous support from:

MALA is supporting the work of both True Honour and the Midland Langar Seva Society, two local charities which support and assist the most vulnerable in our community.

The Ball has been sold out for several years in a row, in 2018 the waiting list exceeded 100 people. In 2019, it sold out in 2 weeks and had a similar waiting list. Please do take a look at the pictures from this year.

It is always a night to remember, the food, the colour, the dancing, the buzz... its incredible!
